Atlased v1.1.0a update: Godot and Tiled support (and more)!

Hello there!

Today I've updated Atlased sprite sheet editor to version 1.1.0a and with this release some new exciting features are coming!

New features and capabilities:

  • Export to Tiled editor tilemaps is now available! Both image- and collection-based tilesets are now supported.
  • Godot engine support is now available through the import plugin created by kzerot! Plugin is capable of creating Tilemaps, Tilesets, standalone Sprites and also AtlasTextures. See plugin documentation for details.
  • "Recent files" list is added to the "File" menu. QoL is important.
  • Each sprite region is now assigned with a unique index within the atlas. This should serve as a metadata link between Atlased JSON and your game code (in parallel with region names). Indexes are assigned from left to right and from top to bottom or, alternatively, they're derived from grid coordinates. Indexes should be consistent enough if you won't do something really crazy.

Improvements:

  • Massive documentation overhaul. Moved from PDF to Markdown/HTML. See project downloads for that.
  • Sprite packer UI received a bunch of hints for it's control widgets.
  • Region list is now sorted by region indexes.
  • Default dark theme received some improvements to look and work better.
  • Default font size is fixed to avoid scaling artifacts on big screens. Hope I've hit the sweet spot, guys :)
  • Support reminder is now less annoying, more flexible and more informative. Yay, support Atlased!

Fixes:

  • Fixed several bugs and flaws related to Configuration and default paths setting (Sprites didn't receive their default location).
  • Fixed a lot of typos.
  • Fixed a couple of minor crashes.

Have a good day :)
